Muharram is one of the four sacred months out of twelve with other months being Dhul-Qa’dah, Dhul-Hijjah and Rajab. And these four months have been considered as sascred since the creation of the universe. After Ramadan, fasting in the month of Muharram is most rewardable.
Muharram festival 2018 is going to be celebrated by the people of Islam religion all over worldon 21st September. The tenth day of the Muharram is of great importance which is celebrated by the Shia Muslims in order to mourn the death of Hussain Ibn Ali whereas by the Sunni Muslims in order to observe the victory of Moses over Egyptian Pharaoh.
The Muharram festival symbolizes the beginning of the new Islamic year. Muharram is derived from the word ‘haram’ which means forbidden. People of the Muslim religion keep fast for the whole month believing as the virtues and awards of this sacred month.
