The dates of Navratri Festival are determined according to the Lunar calendar. The term Navratri symbolizes the victory of positivity over negativity. The festival finally culminates with Dussehra with the victory of good over evil on the tenth day.

The first three days of Navratri denotes to the Tamasik Gunas where the Goddess Durga as a spiritual force to destroys all evils. Further in the next three days of Navratri is devoted to Lakshmi which symbolise Rajasic Gunas, where the mother is adored as a giver of the spiritual health. And the final three days of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati signifying Satvic Gunas in which the Goddess of Wisdom is involved. These nine days denote to the awakening of Divinity to achieve the inner peace.
